School History

Shri Samarendra Nath Kar, The Founder Director of The Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vidyamandir. He was born on 23rd July 1940 as the eldest son of Shri Narendra Nath Kar and Smt. Shantilata Kar. Shri Kar completed his early education from a government school and higher education of B.Sc. (Chemistry) from B.B. College, Asansol in the year 1965. He changed various jobs mostly in Colliery fields and finally established a reputed educational institution at Deoghar where he was largely influenced by the divinity of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Maa Sarada, and their worthy disciple Sri Swami Vivekananda.

The RKVVM is an autonomous institution situated at Deoghar, Jharkhand. The school was established by Late Shri. S. N. Kar whose determination and perseverance helped him to establish an institution that truly values education. Over the years he successfully established the belief that "GOOD PRECEDES GREATNESS".

The institution started on January 18, 1983 as an English –medium Residential school with ten boys at Tripura Kutir in Williams Town, Deoghar. For the development and growth of students the Campus was shifted to Kunda (adjacent to the famous Kundeshwari temple) in the year 1985. The institution was permanently shifted on Jasidih- Rohini Road in the year 1988. The school has shown a remarkable progress, advancement and growth by providing all necessary amenities to the students keeping in view rich culture and tradition of our school.

It is registered under the Society Registration Act, 1860. The school was affiliated up to the Secondary level from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi on June 18, 1997 and upgraded to the Senior Secondary level (+2) in the year 2011.
